About WovenFuse®
WovenFuse® is a woven, cotton interfacing that stabilizes your fabrics and gives a lil structure with super drape. It has a bumpy glue side. It is recommended to apply it first before any other interfacing. It will help prevent the wrinkling/dimpling nonwoven interfacings can cause if not covered with a woven first. It’s made of cloth, therefore it keeps a drape like cloth, whereas nonwovens are actually paper and give a paper drape.
Comparable to SF 101, only better. Use it to stabilize fabric.
WovenFuse® works well alone, particularly for linings and pockets, or in combination with Decovil.
Use a heat temp of 320F if using a heat press, 10-12 seconds, or a hot iron on cotton/wool setting. NO MOISTURE. Generally if there’s an adhering issue, it’s due to not enough heat, or wrinkling due to too much heat. Practice with fabric scraps to find the perfect temp with your equipment. WovenFuse® can be washed by soaking it for 5 minutes in warm soapy water. Rinse without wringing/twisting. Squeeze out excess water. Washing in the washer (being agitated) seemed to affect the adhesive. Line dry or lay flat. Too much heat could potentially loosen the glue.
WovenFuse2® Difference
Slightly more body and denser than the original WovenFuse®, with a different, smooth, shiny glue covering one side completely! It’s been described as being like a half-layer of Decovil Light. WovenFuse2® is 46” wide!
The manufacturer states it is washable and dry-able. But again, be cautious. You might want to experiment yourself to see how adherents are affected. And again, heat can always have some effect. WovenFuse2® seems to take a little more heat than WovenFuse®. Irons with not enough wattage may not fuse effectively. Any fusing issues are usually due to not enough heat. A heat press at 320F for 12 seconds should work. NO MOISTURE! Ironing to fuse depends on how well your iron heats.
WovenFuse2® gives good structure and works well with Decovil light.
About Decovil
Decovil is non-woven, and it's purpose is to give more body. Decovil gives a leather-like hand. Decovil light is used in place of foam, 809 Decor Bond, and fusible fleece, even though those types of interfacings do have a use at times. Decovil heavy is used for bag bottoms in place of Peltex. Decovil does not retain wrinkles like Peltex does. Also use it for wallets, flaps, wherever you want more structure.
Once you receive it, roll it, and the creases will relax out. Keep Decovil heavy out of the seam allowance and insert and fuse after turning whenever possible. Decovil light can be used within seam allowance, but be selective as to which seams it will be okay. Decovil requires moisture for fusing, a pressing cloth, and can be fused in a heat press,
at 320F 6-8 seconds. Lower temps can work also.
Vilene (manufacturer) instructions:
- Place the interfacing with the coated side on the wrong side of the fabric.
- Then cover with a damp cloth and press the iron carefully for about 6 seconds, step by step each area.
- Allow the pieces to cool flat for about 30 minutes, so that the adhesive can set properly.
About LuxeSew®
LuxeSew is a cross between foam and fleece. It's a sew-in substitute for either of them. It sews amazing and gives you the structure and feel that foam or fleece would. It adds structure with out all the bulk or the odd feel you get with sew-in foam where you can tell and feel that its separate from fabric.

About LuxeBond
NEW PRODUCT! It’s a woven interfacing, comparable to Pellon Decor Bond 809 in structure, but it resists wrinkling because it’s woven fabric rather than paper. Wrinkles iron right out and it gives fabric a nice feel. LuxeBond is just slightly heavier then 809. LuxeBond is a great in-between WovenFuse2® and Decovil light. It’s perfect when you need a little more structure than WovenFuse2® and a little less than Decovil light.
